Julia Smirnova
Born 1981 in Yaroslavl, Russia. Moves to Germany in 1997. Photography & design study at Munich University of Applied Sciences, 2003- 2007, Diploma. Art study at Munich Academy of Fine Arts, classes of Günther Förg and Jean-Marc Bustamante, 2009-2015, Diploma. Worked and studied in Calcutta (2005-2007) and Paris (2010-2012). Awards, selection: IV. Ellwanger Art Prize, Munich Art Prize, LfA Calender Prize, Lacoste Elysee Prize (nom.), B&W Spider Awards (2nd place), BLOOM Award by Warsteiner (nom.), 24.
