For this collection of photographs, Carla Schleiffer collaborated with Julia Nusser. The duo drew inspiration from talismans and lucky charms commonly found adorning key chains, worn as necklaces, or shared as gifts among friends and loved ones. These cherished trinkets serve as tokens of profound friendships, bearers of good luck during pivotal moments, and sources of strength during times of illness. Intrigued by the potent significance imbued within these diminutive objects, Carla and Julia embarked on crafting their own symbolic icons.
The photographs showcase collages featuring models affixed to life-sized papier-mâché chains, set against backgrounds that span from ordinary everyday environments to imaginative and fantastical spaces. The pieces are printed on brushed dibond aluminium plates with the size 57x80 and 80x57 cm.
