Frames on table: "Constructed memory"
"Constructed memory" delves into the intricate nuances of memory, exploring its elusive nature as an imperfect reproduction of reality. At the core of this project lies the psychological concept of false memory. The genesis of this project emerged from the discovery of three archive images showing my apartment, four years ago. Initially perceiving these scenes as calming, soft, and inviting, they evoked a peaceful childhood. However, a startling revelation unfolded when I learned that these images were from the 90s, before my birth, and that my early childhood was far from idyllic. Seeking to reappropriate and reconstruct these memories, I meticulously recreated the scenes in paper on a 1:10 scale.
