“Uzuri” is a photo collection taken during Ardennes' travels in Kenya in 2023. Journeying from a remote village near Lake Victoria on the west coast to the shores of the Indian Ocean on the east, her artistic process unfolded naturally, shaped by authentic encounters with the people she met along the way. What emerged was a heartfelt story told through pictures, not as a premeditated effort but as a genuine expression of her experience. "Uzuri", which stands for "beauty" in Swahili, addresses the complexities inherent in appreciating the categorization of the different, the beauty of the other, and the dilemma of the outsider.
