We all have asked for one at school, a “skin-colored” pen. We all have used one, a skin-colored
band Aid. And we all have never questioned it.
With PANTONE HUMAN I want to draw attention to the issue of racism in relation to skin colors. I
would like to produce a small and exciting project with models of different origins and skin colors
(male and female).
The models are photographed in portraits through a transparent film. The edge of the film is
painted in acrylic color and correspondents with the skin tone of all models. Hereby, I achieved a
vintage look framed by the photograph.
I avoided a flamboyant styling for the shooting. I wanted the models in a nude look (nude makeup).
Instead of investing in styling, I played with a lot of jewelry. Rings, necklaces, earrings and
hair accessories. (Jewelry by Cocii & Thatboii)
In order not to show too much skin, the breasts of some models are either covered with hair or by
band Aid.
It is such a shame that you are unconsciously confronted with racism when you are a child. Let us
change it.
