Free love and sexuality are the main themes of my project “Mon bien-aimé”. During 6 months, I took analog self-portraits in my home or at the homes of the men I had intimate relationships with. Sometimes I posed alone, sometimes with the men, but always naked.
A lot of topics played a role for the project: authenticity, vulnerability, contentment, polyamory, emotional dependence, commitment. Romantic and sensual, these images portray my state of mind and the unique relationships I had with each of the men.
Female voices are being more considered and accepted these days, particularly regarding harassment and sexual abuse. Sexuality and self-pleasure are also becoming less taboo. With “Mon bien-aimé” I contribute to this movement on a small scale. The purpose of this project isn’t to blame the dominant model of heterosexual monogamy. I believe that a different way of loving does exist.
