Experiencing as a pure amateur the enormous potential unveiled by numeric imaging in terms of real-time imaging, image resolution, color depth and various assisting features of modern high-tech cameras, he also has always been fascinated to tickle out the strengths of “cheap” mainstream compact cameras and bring those adequately back to the right analogue support, the paper on the wall.
All the pictures were taken with the same Canon IXUS APS compact camera in the mid-Nineties during travels to NYC, Kochi, Helsinki and Venice. The negatives have been scanned with a resolution of 9600 dpi, a color depth of 24 bit and printed for the first time in late summer 2020 with its original cut-out to high quality cotton-based paper.
