I started working on the project “Naturalia” during the beginning of 2017, after moving to Berlin, Germany from a small, rural village in Switzerland. It became pretty clear to me that living in one of the biggest capital cities in Europe significantly impacted my mental health due to the city’s lack of nature. I began to seek nature in my everyday life by collecting elements that somewhat reminded me of the nature that was present in my hometown, but within inside and outside of the chaotic city’s parameters. With this work I'm presenting an honest geological portrait of what i see, feel and physically experience around me; I’m creating a narrative of a dystopian reality and simultaneously paying homage to nature in order to negotiate an equilibrium in between.
